# I give Echinaforce Junior to my 3½-year-old daily starting in late August/early September. Is this too much, or should I wait for the first signs of a cold?

You’re taking a thoughtful approach to supporting your child’s immune health.

[Echinaforce Junior](https://shop.avogel.ca/products/a-vogel-echinaforce-junior) can be used both at the first signs of a cold and as a preventive measure during higher-risk seasons.

For prevention, it is appropriate to start giving Echinaforce Junior at the beginning of the fall season (August/September). A typical approach is to give 1 tablet daily for up to 4 months, followed by a 2-week break before continuing again if needed.

This type of routine can help support the immune system during periods when children are more exposed to seasonal viruses, such as back-to-school months.
